HUGO LEIBBRANDT
Whenever I was asked, “What would you like to be when you grow up?”, my answer was always: “An architect or an interior designer.”
Although neither came to fruition, my love for architecture, design, and art, especially abstract art, remained, although somewhat distant..
This recent passion for painting, drawing and creating things myself, has caught me completely by surprise and to be honest, really has me hooked. I’m now able see things in a different light. How the use of colour and shapes can evoke emotion. I’m able to take in the work of all kinds of artists. Kandinsky, Miró, Klee and Mondrian to name a few. All are a source of inspiration that I’m able to inhale and breathe out into my own work.
